稲荷神社の願掛け狐には雄と雌があるのをご存じですか？オスには髭が描かれています。
Autumn Prayer ー by ‘Gankake-Kitsune ’
‘Inari Jinja’, where you can find a set of fox-shaped guardians called ‘komainu’, have fox-shaped small dolls - ‘Gankake-Kitsune’. Visitors make a wish by writing their wish on a paper, put it inside a doll and place the set at a prayer-hall. Foxes are said to be a messenger to God and take care of visitors’ wish. When you visit an Inari- jinja, look at a doll fox to see if it's has whiskers. If yes, it's a male.
